PENNY LANE BARBER CO.
I was approached by a couple of hair stylists who had decided to leave their jobs at start their own barber shop. They were talking to me because the business needed a sharp logo that would be a clear representation of the shop and its particular style and atmosphere - and these 2 have a lot of style.

The name of the shop was inspired by the famous Beatles song:

In Penny Lane, there is a barber showing photographs
Of every head he's had the pleasure to know
And all the people that come and go
Stop and say, "Hello"
SETTING THE TONE
They were looking for a logo that would combine vintage barber shop and tattoo art, but ultimately feel modern. After speaking to them and getting all the necessary information, I set to work making sketches and researching, and ended up with a great logo that met all the design goals while also incorporating a small musical element - the 6 lines through "Penny Lane" represent a musical staff and tie the logo firmly to its musical roots. I also produced a set of icons and profile images that they could use for their social media pages.
